The easy way to limit your sodium intake

If you have high blood pressure and sensitive to sodium, reduced sodium intake can help lower blood pressure.

By limiting sodium and changing lifestyles, so you may not need medication. If you’ve used drugs, by reducing sodium then these drugs would be more effective.

Here are some easy ways to reduce sodium in foods:

• Eat more fresh foods than processed foods. Fresh foods contain less sodium than processed foods.

• Choose low-sodium products. Processed foods usually contain high sodium, such as, soups, broth, canned vegetables, and sauces. However, these foods have a process that produced by low sodium.

• Read the labels. Read food labels before buying or eating it. Listed on the label the amount of sodium contained in these foods.

• Do not add salt to food. If the food was bland, add other spices, such as lemon, pepper or other spices.

• Limit the use of sauce. Salad dressings, ketchup, mustard, and others that contain sodium. Likewise, pickles and olives.

• rinse the canned food. By rinsing the vegetables and meat in a can will reduce the sodium to approximately one third.

Before trying salt substitutes, consult your doctor first. Because some salt or salt substitutes also contain a mixture of lite natriumklorida (NaCl / salt) and other mixtures. Because to get the same salty taste, you’ll increase the use of salt substitutes that much more effort to reduce sodium eventually become useless.

Kaliumklorida (KCI) is also often used as a substitute for salt. In fact, excess potassium can damage the kidneys or if you are taking medication for high blood pressure or certain heart failure medications are so dangerous substances. Ask your doctor before using salt substitutes.
